Meet Dr. Simon Yakligian

 “Golden Rule” has been the focus of Dr. Simon Yakligian’s life for as long as he can remember, “Whether I am with a patient, friend, or family member, I’m always attempting to put myself in the position of the other person and treat others the way I would hope to be treated.”
Driven by a love of science and medicine, Dr. Simon chose dentistry because it allows him to care for people’s physiological and functional needs while simultaneously attending to their more emotional concerns regarding their self-image. “In many ways, modern dentistry is a holistic process in which the patient’s cares are evaluated and treated both on the physical level and also with respect to how they feel about their smile, their treatment, and dentistry in general.”

His “Golden Rule” life philosophy was further inspired by the realization that dentists need to recognize that in the past, some patients endured largely unfavorable dental experiences. “Many people have both negative associations and genuine anxiety about previous dental treatment. I think it’s our responsibility and privilege as dentists to create a nonjudgmental, empathetic place where patients feel safe, heard, and empowered in their own care.” Dr. Simon’s favorite part of his profession is the opportunity to build positive, long-term relationships, as well as to create rapport that encourages patients to truly enjoy their time “in the chair”. Characterizing his approach to treatment as conservative and preventative, Dr. Simon would love to help each patient enjoy, “A smile that lasts a lifetime. I am convinced that it’s possible, and I love working together toward that ideal.”

Both Dr. Michael Umberger and Dr. Simon Yakligian consider continuing education to be the key to providing their patients with the most current and progressive dental care available. As a result, both doctors have advanced clinical education credits from countless accredited institutions, including the Spear Institute, as well as the Misch International Implant Institute.
In addition to continuing education, the doctors also belong to various prestigious organizations and groups that promote both clinical and technological advances in modern dentistry.
